I had talked about this car on another forum a few days ago. I was just contacted by the seller saying that he had a buyer that backed out, he said if I show up with $2,000 this weekend it's mine. Like I had stated before, I had some concerns about the Olds diesel in it, but he claims it runs great, and gets well over 20 mpg. I love my 1972 Cutlass, but I am looking for a beater that is alittle more efficient then my 455. Does this sound like a good deal for what it is? In my area, a running, driving car for $2,000 is worth it right there, but something that has SOME coolness potential....what does the forum people think??

Go test drive it. If it impresses you and the positives outweigh the negatives then buy it. The price sounds average for a car of that age.

I would at least look at it. It is not to far away. You might get there and love it or hate it.
