1966 F-85 4dr Hardtop
I was finally able to get around, find the camera and take some pictures. My wife and I picked up this car a couple of weeks ago for $2800. Overall she is in excellent shape. Bought her off of a 86yr old gentleman who hasn't driven in 5 years and hasn't driven the F-85 in 10. He purchased the car in 1986 off of the son of the original owner who just had it parked in a garage since his mothers passing in '74. Needless to say she is all original other than plugs, wires, cap and tires (but it has the original spare in the trunk). This car of which my wife and I named 'Gracie' after the original owner only has 19K miles on her. To survive the few winters it was driven the car had a ziebart rustproofing job and I must say they did an excellent job, gracie is as solid as can be. In the glove box we found the car manual and the olds protect -o plate of which both look new other than the yellowing of the pages.
So here she is - see everyone at the Old homecoming

It is nice to buy a 60's era car and not have to dump money into it just to get it on the road. There are somethings that needed attention when we got it like the rear shelf, but other than that just having to do the basic maintenance of an oil change, lubrication of the chassis and a tune up was so nice. It is a nice change from the others I had where there was always something that had to be done or they sat in the garage for years while I scavenged around for parts.

Gracie is a fairly rare lady. Only 7013 1966 F85 Deluxe Holiday Sedans were built, and they were far less common than the upscale Cutlass Supreme Holiday Sedan (30871 built).
In all honesty, until I looked in my Standard Catalog of Oldsmobile, I thought the only 1966 Olds A-body four-door hardtop was the Supreme. I knew of F85 Deluxe Holiday Coupes, but not the sedan. I learn something new all the time.

Very sweet car and very sweet name....just happens to be my oldest daughter's name! Finding a "time machine" like that is very special! I found my '65 Vista under similar circumstances. Except the mileage was 58,000! Good luck with it and many years of enjoyment!

Thanks everyone!! Does anyone know what these cars are worth? Wife is curious. I told her why does it matter, this is the car you love and you can't put a price on love, but she wanted me to ask anyways.

Your car is actually called an F-85 Deluxe as the 4-door hardtop version of the F-85 was only available in the Deluxe line. A 4-door in the Standard line would have been a post sedan.
The Old Cars Price Guide lists the value of a '66 F-85 Deluxe 4-door hardtop in #4 condition (runs but needs full restoration) at $2,320 and in #3 condition (car show quality but not showroom quality) at $5,220. These are average values.
I would say that your car is better than #4 by quite a bit, but until and unless you get the engine compartment cleaned up, it's not a #3. But I would put it at somewhere close to #3. Also, with that extremely low mileage, I would say a value of, what, $4,000 would be reasonable? Maybe $4,500? Somewhere in there is maybe what I'd value it at for insurance purposes. If you paid $2,800, you certainly did not overpay. You got a bargain. Good luck with it!
