Neutral safety switch 67 Cutlass

All of a sudden the car wouldn't start. But if I banged it into park it started.
Is the neutral safety adjustable? It looks like it is. Or is it bad?
Thanks

Could be either or. Recently while replacing my brake booster/master cylinder the easiest way to get to one booster mounting nut was to remove the neutral safety switch, and when I initially threw the switch back in, the car would not start. After an adjustment, it would start but would have the reverse lights on in Park. Took some trial and error in my case, getting everything positioned just right for it all to work as it did before I removed it, so yes definitely adjustable.

If you haven't touched yours before this problem occurred, might want to pull it out and have a good look at it to make sure it's reasonably clean. Make sure to find a way to mark where it currently is, assuming it hasn't been moved since it started acting up.
