62 SUPER EIGHTY 8 (Newbie needs to know)
Hey all...New to the board and already have a question...I had the Super in the shop the other day for a few routine procedures..front wheel bearings and brakes and to my utter horror, the kid in the shop snapped off two left front wheel studs not knowing about the left side-right side lugs...well the shop couldn't find the correct studs and tack welded in 5 that arent for the car...I found the correct studs and contacted him to install and now he says that he doesnt have the proper tools to do the job...is there a special tool needed for this? if there is ...does anybody know where to get it? and is there any other way to pull these thru without destroying the studs...I just got new tires and wheels on her and can't seem to enjoy it knowin that this is amiss...Thanks in advance...

Someone's fullo'crap!!
If they 'tac-welded' them all in, they ruined either the drum or spindle, and are responsible to make it right!!
If you'll accept a repair, and not replacement, [I woudn't!] they can grind-out the weld, knock the old studs through, push the new one's in by hand, and tighten with an impact wrench, one at a time, making sure it's straight!
Actually sounds like they don't know what they're doing, and if they say they haven't the equiptment, TELL them, you'll get it fixed elsewhere, and bring them the bill!!
Ask an Auto Parts store that has a machine shop if they can fix it!

X2 What he said. In fact I would not let them do the work. It is obvious they don't know what they are doing. Find a reputable shop or do it yourself, not that tough of a project. Just make them pay for fix.
