Pinion companion flange '56 er

Hello everyone, i need some help here. I want to replace the pinion oil seal of the differential from my 1956 Oldsmobile cause of a leak there.
I disconnected the shaft and now i want to loosen the nut of the companion flange. Now there i'm stuck, the nut won't move a single inch. The car is rised up with the back wheel on some woodbocks so the flange is not be able turn. I used al my power and a extended wrench but there is no movement in the nut. I'm turning it counter the clock is that correct?
Could you help me out here please?
I've noticed there are some gaps in the nut, i think there used for extra thighting.

You need an impact - HD electric or AIR is usually the best. Sorry gonna need to borrow or spend some money on this one.

Precisely count the threads exposed and match mark the nut flange position before disassembly. The goal is to put the nut back EXACTLY where it is without over tightening. I agree you'll need a strong impact to remove the nut.

Make sure you use lock tight and do not use the GUN to re-tighten...MAKE it as tight as you can by hand...You will not re-crush the sleeve... you will need a 2+ foot bar to make that happen. IF by chance the nut does make the the pinion tight...SOMEthing was wrong from the beginning. ?? IF everything feels good no in out play and smooth spin... stake that nut with a pointed steel punch in the tapper of the pinion nut enough to mangle the nut into the thread .... DO NOT go nuts one good strike should do it. THAT will keep the nut from backing off when driving . Good luck to you.
