1971 Cutlass Sport mirror options??
Hey all, I have done a search, but cannot find what im looking for. My car currently has the dual chrome mirrors, and am looking at re-using the original holes and bolting on sport mirrors....my question is what mirrors will bolt in place? I dont want resto correct as they are too expensive..I dont care if they are from a chevy/ford/dodge, whatever. While this may upset most of you on here, its ok, cuz it could be worse...i had heard something about 70's era camaro mirrors also

Thank you very much!..this will make it easier for me to find on short notice since the car went to the body shop for paint over the weekend, and will be done in about 5 weeks..I had just all of a sudden rememberd that I have the chrome mirrors, and one was pitted to all hell..so i figured I would change them out for sport mirrors since the car wont have barely any chrome soon.

I agree that the "bullet" portion of the sport mirrors are all the same. But I believe the base or pedestal is different between applications. I'm not sure which ones would interchange with your car, but you might want to hold a set against the doors to see how they look. I suspect some may be at the wrong angle considering the shape of the door skin. John

John...yeah I had read that as well..I think it was all in the base gasket that changed the angle?? As long as it doesnt look too goofy, I can live with it, but I also dont want womperjawed crooked..lol. too bad the aurora mirror was a lil shorter as I am trying to incorporate as much of different generation Oldsmobiles as possible..including the interior next year. The car is going in the budget protouring direction...nothing too major, but a slight lowering maybe, 4wdb, boss 338 18" staggered rims, 2007 Atomic Orange with black bumpers, grille, hood vents, and lower bodyline...I cant wait.

Correct. The F-body mirrors, for example, have taller bases with a different angle on them. When used on an A-body, the mirror is rotated towards the door glass and looks wrong.
