Lower ball joint

Things giving me trouble, i know its never easy but i could use a few tips..

I have a press but i cant get the dam thing to push it out, so ive moved on to a 4lb sledge. The control arm is off of the car, im useing one of the press sets spacers to give the ball joint space to back out..

But it dosent seem to be responding to the hits...

Hit harder? Lol
I dont want to smash my control arm!!
