Fremont 1970 442 Convertible build body bushing questions
Hi folks:
I have some questions regarding body bushings on a Fremont built 1970 442 convertible. I’m documenting my restoration in Major Builds but am hoping to reach more folks with this thread. Based on the incredible Major builds that I’ve been following and referencing the assembly manual, I was expecting to see bushings on the frame in every body mount location that were either dark or light green in color. Instead I found differences and am wondering if anyone has seen these before and are the attributable to the factory (Fremont, CA) as I’ve not seen these in W30 builds from Lancing. I’ve attached pictures and the following observations:
#2 bushing: some green color (maybe dark) with metal insert flared to about 3/4 inch. #6 and #7 appear to be the same.
#3 bushing: light green color and metal insert has wider flare to accommodate nut that protrudes from body.
#4 bushing: no bushing on top of frame. Just rubber bushing from underneath protruding about 1/4 in through frame. Is painted yellow in color and has lettering on the surface - yellow 52.1/1232550/BLUE/BM
#5 bushing: rubber only and painted purple/pink
#6 bushing: some green and same shape as #2
#7 bushing: some green and same shape as #2
Some questions:
Where would I find replacements for these bushings? I’ve looked at kits from OPGI, Fusick, YearOne, In-line, and they look generic. Does any dealer sell individual bushings so that I can get the ones I need.
Thanks in advance for the help!
Jim
