What does this Dual Gate fit?

Hi, I purchased the shifter below to put into my Wife's Camaro. Before I cut up or modify the brackets I want to make sure that it isn't something rare or that someone needs for a restoration. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thnx, Scott

Hard to tell, but my guess is it's an aftermarket unit. The Pontiac factory dual gate shifters used a straight stick, so it's definitely not that. Olds used the bent stick but so did all the aftermarket units.

Are there any parts numbers on it? Someone might be able to identify it for you.

I can check the part number on it when I get home tonight. Sorry, not interested in trading for the Hurst console shifter. I need this type of shifter to work with the console we are going to use.

The brackets do not look like the 70-72 Olds nor the 79 Olds brackets. I do not have a good picture of the 73-75 brackets. Hurst sold a lot of these aftermarket and these look like the aftermarket brackets.

What year Camaro are you putting it in? Hurst sold direct-fit dual gates for the 2nd gen and 3rd gen Camaros.

The part number on the shifter is 3292450. It is going in a 68 Camaro Baldwin Motion tribute car. the picture below is what I am looking for. I posted an ad in the wanted section for the brackets. I was told that shifter/brackets I am looking for were used in the 69 HO model.

It looks like 2 different shifters to me.

The pic on the left appears to be a 69 H/O with "shorty consol" in something besides a 69 H/O. Maybe/could be mounted in a GTO

The pic on the right seems to be from a Pontiac

They are two different shifters. The one on the left is in Dick Landy's Charger. The one on the right is a Pontiac shifter, but it has the brackets required to fit the console pictured on the left. This is the shifter that Yenko and other builders used when installing an automatic.

Yes, Thank you! The shifter in the first post is what I have, the pictures in the other one are what I need. I also didn't want to modify anything if this was a shifter that someone needed.

I thought Yenko and others used the "bent stick" shifter and mini console like the one in the 68-69 H/O.

As far as I know you are correct on that. The pictures I have were sent to me as a reference so I would know which brackets I needed. From what I have been told the basic shifter is the same, all based on the 67 GTO shifter. The Olds and aftermarket got the bent stick, Pontiac got the straight stick. They all used the 67 GTO top plate since that was the only one that screwed on. The mounting brackets would fit either shifter. I'm learning as I go, my goal is to get the bent stick with the tall mounting brackets so I can use the mini console. That would complete the look of our car.

Repro 68-69 H/O console

Now here's a part I didn't know was being reproduced:

I guess it helps when the same part was used on Camaros...

parts and parts

The shell or "shorty consol is a really flimsey POS. The best thiing to do is buy a fiber glass kit and line the inside to give it some beef. No one will know the diffference and it will make it 100% better.

The other part I found digging around yesterday is #5717

Is this what you're looking for mudjnky?
