Run away......unless you have another $75k to restore it.

It is rusty junk.

Car reminds me of the old Johnny Cash song, one piece at a time..its definitely as rough as can be with very little pros and a shitload of cons.. walk away, the cat thinks its a 25k car, not even close..even doing it all yourself which very very few people possess that skill, you would be so upside down it would be pathetic..I bet the frame has rust, windows, dash, all very very expensive repairs not to mention all the body panels need rust remediation.

I agree with many others here, asking price is absurd for that rotten turd. One quick scan of FB marketplace bAt or CL and you can see the disturbing trend of ridiculously high prices for crap. All those corny tv shows about chasing & restoring old cars sure doesn't help.

I know someone who bought a rough 1970 W30. The car needed lots of work, but was matching numbers and had a broadcast card.
That is what you want to restore. It will be worth it in the long run.

Agree, very difficult to find one with all correct components much less-the broadcast card

The sad thing is, there is not any documentation on this car. Maybe the Protect O Plate and even then I’m not sure about. The original back lower seat cussion is gone so no broadcast card or build sheet. GM has all the documentation which will require time to get. I hope someone will buy this car and bring it back. The floors, wheel houses and frame appear solid. I looked pretty hard at this car.

I wanted opinions one this W-ish car.
Thanks, Classic Oldsmobile Community. My wheel house is 68-69 I’m not very knowledgeable on 70’s +

I’m out. I’m not buying this Oldsmobile. I have another project I’m placing my money into. My car is fully documented
and numbers matching except for the GM replacement 455 block and it needs to be finished and enjoyed.

To think this car is worth anywhere close to twenty five grand you are high. What bones are left there? Fender wells and the hood hold downs. Some dealer will get it and toss it up for crazy money. Watch. W cars were very special from the factory. They weren't just some car with a motor. Oldsmobile cared. W cars were special vehicles. Once all that is ALL stripped away? What's left?

What makes you think the seat cushion is the only place to find a trim card? I've most often found them underneath carpeting, but they can be just about anywhere in the interior. No build sheet on a Lansing car, anyway.

What documentation is available from GM? Do you mean GM Vintage Vehicle Services? Was this car sold in Canada?

Unless the car was sold in Canada GM Heritage will have nothing on the vehicle. Sadly GM USA didnt keep any records of the vehicles sold/options etc. Hopefully someone buys it for a reasonable price and resto mods it with an Olds engine.

I’m going to leave that 70 to some other lucky person. Instead of taking on and spending money for that W ish-30. I’m going to focus the funding to my W car and getr-dun. 😄

Why would anyone do that? If the thing has any value at all, it's in the tenuous claim of it being a W-30. Otherwise, it's just a rusty heap. Plenty of cleaner platforms for a restomod project out there that don't carry the baggage of having once been great.

Looks like a 15000.00 to 20,000.00 due to all the rust. I would be careful of the frame and core support. Not trying to beat anyone up but let's be real.
