I was wondering if the bolt on centers are the same as the 14 inch or are they completely different? Also would they use the mushroom looking centers on cutlass or was that for another model? Thanks

Yes the bolt on center caps are the same on both the 14 and 15" wheels. Then in the late 1970's those snap on center caps will also fit both the 14 and 15" wheels. If I'm picturing the right center when your describing mushroom tops I have seen those on the Cutlass. To be sure though, do you have a picture you could post? John

 

Do you have any idea what ups or the post office would charge to ship these 15 inch wheels? I'm trying to figure what the weight of each wheel is and the 15 inch with bolt on centers are hard to come by correct or do they make repo of them?

 

You can have them custom made by cutting the center out of a 14" wheel and having it welded into a 15" blank. If you have time try the search option to read threads about this. I know there's been a few posts on it. But back to the used ones you've found. If your getting them for $100 or less each your doing OK. They are hard to find and not cheap when found. I've shipped wheels by putting two per box/package. Sometimes computer boxes will fit two wheels, or you can raid the recycle bin from a tire store for actual wheel boxes. I've used individual wheel boxes then the stretch wrap to secure two boxes into one package. I don't remember the weight, probably 60 pounds or so for two wheels. I've found FedEx ground to be cheaper than UPS or USPS most of the time. John

 

What year were they installed on do you know? I think 1969 but not certain.

 

I believe they were introduced in '74 and maybe were used for a year or two. They will fit your car also...lug pattern is the same.

As mentioned above....Fedex is the way to ship....better prices and a lot less abuse of the packages.

 

The 1969 Hurst Olds had them, but the wheel was chrome. Then I'm pretty sure it was 1973-74 painted body colored with a stainless trim ring. But they also offered the 14X7 in 73-74 too. About 10 years ago I purchased a 1974 Cutlass in clunker condition for a set of these wheel John

 

So if these are the 69 hurst wheels are they worth more then the painted version?

 

Your sure these are bolt on centers, chrome plated wheel, and factory? The reason I'm asking is Hurst Olds wheels are very rare and yes worth way more than painted ones. But try to get the numbers stamped off the wheel to make sure. I've got a set of SSI 15X7 chrome plated wheels that were made up on Portland Oregon a couple years ago. There should be codes stamped near the valve stem, plus under where the tire mounts there will be a bunch of codes stamped. John

 

I think they're painted just was curious what the price difference would be if they were the real hurst olds wheels from 69 I'm getting a pic of them soon.

 

The value of '69 H/O wheels will depend, A LOT, on the quality of the chrome outer rim. If the chrome is worn then they are no good for a restoration other than being donors for a set to have new chrome hoops put on.
