What is today's correct tire size for mine 1969 olds 88 delta.

I read 8.85 x 15 or H78x 15 F/B.

But i am not familiar with those size's ( for my time i think)

the size i run, are 235/60/15, and read that most are running about 28 inch tall tires.

If so than i have to run 245/60/15 or 235/70/15 ?

but if someone can tell me the exact original inches of my 88 delta that would be nice

 

I think that my 75 88 is the same

I know I have P23575R15 on all 3 of my cars

I also think that my original sizes were HR but sorry, I would only be guessing. Someone with more knowledge than I have is sure to answer

I am not sure what the overall height has to do with anything but I did find on http://www.onlineconversion.com/tire...conversion.htm that my size (above) = 28.5 inches

 

One major practical effect of the wrong diameter tire is a difference in the odometer/speedometer; more than a 3% difference in tire diameter will start giving a noticeable change in readings.

Major differences would start affecting engine rpm at specific speeds, which would translate into mpg differences, etc. I would expect pretty negligible effects, though, unless you're going from a 24" tire to a 30" tire...

You're lucky it's a 1969 - at least your speedometer is geared in the transmission, and you can change it relatively easily. Us poor saps with the speedo at the wheel have fewer (or more expensive) options...

 

225/75R-15 or 235/70R-15 would be closest to your original tire size.

mm i don't have the speedometer on the gearbox.
it's mounted on my frontwheel ( at hub/ and bearings)?
drivers side.
but bought me some nice tires, 235/70/15 looks nice.

It look like that they are the last one's becouse those tire diam.
tire manufactors do not diliver them to the netherlands anymore
Had normaly wait to July, when a near by usa shop get those again from the states.
