SSI Center Caps

I would like to know if the factory 67 SSI center caps will work on the reproduction 67 SSI 14x6 wheels. I have another question.. is there only 1 manufacturer of the reproduction SSI wheels?
Thanks Steve

The wheels were referred to in roman numerals, SSI, SSII, etc.

The answer is maybe, depending on the particular wheel. Best thing to do is ask the previous owner of them, or the manufacturer if you buy new.

Companies come and go. A quick search yielded this.

I ordered 5 SSI wheels and firestone redline radials from Coker tire today. I asked about the caps they were not sure so I ordered center caps and will post if the originals would have worked. They are having a free shipping sale this month and they also mount and balance for free. Steve

To my knowledge, there are ~3 different centers.
OEM (by the OEM PN), reproductions with and without (an early attempt at a repro) the ridge at the bottom.
Many vendors sell the repro wheels and centers.
I purchased my SSI from Wheel Vintiques and the centers from Fusick. High quality on both.
To answer the question the retainer holds all 3 types. Any of the 3 will fit. But go for the centers with the ridge as per the OEMs.

Thank you for the reply. I kinda figured that but did't know for sure. I have 5 original G.M. caps with the ridge I bought a long time ago. I want to use these and if I can coker will take the others back. Will know once they get here. Steve

Hi, I received the new wheels and tires today. The gm center caps and the reproduction center caps are dimentionally the same other than the ridge. I installed them on the wheels and the fit fine. The retainers are exactly the same, So the answer is they work. Steve
