15x8 back space?

Ordering new SS1 rims from Summit for a 71 442 with stock suspension. Not sure what back space to order for the rear wheels. Putting 15x7 on front with 4.375 BS. 15x8 on the rear... they offer 4.5 or 5.0 BS for the 15X8's. The tires are Goodrich TA's 235-60-15 front, 275-60-15 rear. What BS should I order?

Are you sure, Once I order these and mount tires no returning them. Will the 5.0 BS not leave enough rim on the outside and look funny compared to the front rims?

4.5" BS is the way to go, or 4" if it's an option, that would give you more lip.

Both back spaces will fit in the rear but the 5" will not look right. The 4.5" backspace will look better in relation to the front. You could actually put the 15/8 with 4.5 BS on all 4 corners.

Fyi

This is 275 60 15s with 4.5 BS on the back of my W machines.

In my opinion it is perfect.

Thanks guys! Yep 4.5 that's it then. I'llk order them today! Nice cars oldsmobiledave.
I'll post pictures when I get the tires/wheels mounted. Replacing the stock 14" SS11's. I'll keep the 14's for originality but I believe the ride and look of 15" SS1's will be better.

Good decision & exactly the thought process that I went thru.

You may want to consider 245 60 15s up front rather than the 235 60 15. Or if you want a front tire closer to the same height do what I did on my cars & go with 225 70 15s up front.
