Wide White Wall tires
Wide White Wall tires
Hi everyone.
Does anyone have any experience with Diamondback Radials? Or have a good comparison between them and BFG Silvertown radials? The Diamondbacks are considerably less expensive, but I don't have any knowledge of their quality.
Or does anyone know of different wide whites? I'm not getting much in searching. I had forgotten about Diamondback and every time I see Silvertowns it leads me back to Coker. That guy Kawasaki is a little too proud of his stuff I think.
Anyway, thanks for any suggestions.

A lot of bad has been written about COker. Not really deserved. I've run 3 sets of Coker WWW radials on my Kustoms with never a problem. And besides, Coker owns all the molds for making antique tires. And their bias ply line doesn't seem to have any unusual issues. The radial line did have some for a while when transitioning the manufacture to Mexico.
As for radials, like I said, I've never had a problem with mine, or my customer cars. That said, I am running Diamondback bias ply look-alikes on my newest project, just to keep them traditional looking, with the pie cut type sidewalls. Haven't been on the road with them yet, but reviews are pretty favorable by those who purchased them. As for the other line (non bias-look-alike) they are modern tires with whites bonded onto them. Modern aspect ratios, and all. So, if looks are important to you, go with the bias look-alikes.

Thumbs up for Diamondback radials. They are made in Conway. The owner retired from another line of work and started this business. He has done well.
Come to Run to the Sun in mid-March, Diamondback is usually there. Plus, Conway is just down the road from Myrtle Beach. 3300 cars.

Thanks guys. I know Coker has good stuff but for a lot of it I'm priced out. I don't remember them being that expensive when Corky was running things. That being said, they have a lot of stuff you can't find anywhere else.
I had a little down time at work this afternoon, and I searched Diamondback a little better. I found their Auburn bias-look radial tire. I wasn't sure if I wanted the BFG tread or the original looking tread. So I went and found some factory pictures of my car(it's an Imperial) and the tires in the pictures were identical to the Auburn bias-looks. Same tread, same pie plate edges. So that's what I want to get. And I'm glad they are good tires and I'm glad there are here in the south.
Thanks you guys for responding.
