I powder coated a set of Pontiac Rallye II wheels. The car set outside. (Miami, Fl.). I found the powder coating didn't get into the crevice between the
rim and the hub very well and after less than a year rust was visible. The next set I did I painted that area with POR15 after primer with a small paintbrush. Then I used a paintbrush again to paint the color down in the crack. This was on a set of SS IIIs I have on my '87 Cutlass. Over ten years later the wheels still look fine.

Those look great!
Were those wheels stock off of your car and you just have them freshened up it did you buy them new and have them painted to match your car?

Id like to find the sane rally wheel style I have on my 72 but in 15 inch instead of 14 inch so that I could open up more options for disc brake conversions.

They are the stock wheels. My car was repainted by the previous owner but it was a cheap job with over-spray everywhere and they did not remove any chrome or trim. In the future I want to repaint it cream and do it right. Since I want to keep the black ragtop, I figured the black wheels would have a nice contrast with the cream.

Those look fantastic. From what I've heard from some friends, its a shame that some of these powder coat shops consider 'just' a set of wheels not worth their time. Glad you had a good experience.

looking good!

I'm already curious how mine will turn out after blasting and painting. the shop does powder coating and painting, after the owner saw the rims he suggest go for painting and not powder coating.
