Wheels

I have a 1978 oldsmobile delta 88 coupe royale
I seen a pair of 14” old cutlass wheels. anyone know if they would look good or fit with being the type of car I have? Thanks.

I believe your car will need 15" wheels and the correct bolt pattern should be 5x5"
The 14" wheels will not have the correct bolt pattern

The 1977-1990 B-body cars came with 5 x 4.75" wheel bolt pattern unless the car got the optional HD brakes and suspension. That was the only case where the larger bolt pattern was used. These cars came with SSIII wheels from the factory, but as noted they were 15x7.

Agreed, I thought late 70s 88s were standard 5 x 5 as well. I've learned more from Joe and the like about Olds in the past 20 years than I learned from real life mingling and obsessing the 15 years prior to the internet as we know it. All the while being an Olds enthusiast since the mid 1980s. Joe is a true Oldsmobile historian. The most impressive I have ever come across.

J1978 I think your car will look great with SSIIIs as the pic provided shows. But definitely go with 15s once you confirm bolt pattern. 14s will look small on a full size car...

FYI, the downsized 1977 B-body cars were actually based on the chassis from the 1973-77 A-body cars. Same 116" wheelbase, same 4 3/4" bolt pattern, same 11" front rotors and 9.5" x 2" rear drums. Very similar suspension and steering design.
