Wheel upgrade options

I really like the 17 inch Year one SSII wheel but they have not made them for years. Looking for something similar. Anyone know anything about circle racing?

The first will look more stock and there should be 17" RWL tires available this Summer. I find the rubber band look hard to overcome on bigger wheels. I currently have 235/60R18 on my Challenger for the Winter, not much tire once there is weight on them. Tne Summer 235/55R19 stock rims and tires oare even worse. It will depend if you want a looks stock but bigger rim or obviously aftermarket like the other two. All will look good IMHO, depending on what YOU want.

Are the Year One 17" SSIIs really out of production, or just out of stock? Their website says to "check back soon". Seems I looked at purchasing a staggered set last summer when they were in stock and am now kicking myself for not pulling the trigger then. They look more "authentic" than the circleracing Olds (Series 123) rims (which still don't look bad IMO). Have you gotten a quote from circleracing for a set of those Olds rims? Their website seems to be lacking any pricing detail. Thanks.

The Y/O site shows these "Arriving Soon", FWIW. I went ahead and put them on my wish list. Fingers crossed.

I talked to Year One yesterday and the guy I talked to said they sold pretty well but could not tell me if they ever will be available again. I called circle but they were closed, I will call again Monday. The circle wheel would look good and correct. YO said to add to wish list if enough people wish for them that might trigger a run. How many members here? Everyone make a wish!

That's why I added a set to my wish list on YO's site. Can't hurt, and now they have my contact info if they do get more in. YES, please add your name to a wish-list to give them some incentive.

I'm currently running 245-60-14s on 6" SS1 rims and will be upgrading the front suspension w/ tall spindles, tubular A-arms, coil-overs, etc. Too much "ballooning" w/ the 60 series sidewalls for my taste (and limits the handling improvement of the other mods) and I'll need larger rims anyway to clear disk brakes. Not sure 50-series on 15" rims will reduce the "balloon" feeling enough, so 40-series on 17" rims (same as my '98 T/A) should be just right.

These tires are 10 years old so I need to replace them.I was looking at 255/60/15 but then started thinking about 17 inch.

Super happy with Chris Coddington, Boyd's son. Beautiful rims. Polished to perfection on outside and inside of rims. USA made, big selection. Fair pricing.
17'' x 10'' 305/45r17 on 87 cutlass. With the help of hair dryer and baseball bat to fit. Sorry about the fat foot, Bad gout that day.

Gout is terrible. It felt like someone was beating my foot with a paddle. I have not had it since I stopped eating beef and drinking beer at the same time. Those are nice wheels but I am leaning towards something that looks closer to OE

I needed an 18" wheel to clear my oversized disc brakes. I prefer the SSII wheels, but found an SSI look-a-like from US Mags that was reasonably priced and with a little american ingenuity, I modded the original SSI center cap retainers so I could complete the resto-mod illusion. Here's some pics.

I like the look! I am leaning towards "windows" not spokes.

What do you mean by leaning towards windows and not spoke? Windows is the space between the spokes.

Here is a similar option by Ridler: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rid-652-8861gbd

Ridler 652 Series Gloss Black Wheels with Diamond Cut Lip 18x8

Found some American Racing SS-I style 17" rims here. All appear to be in stock, and price is similar to the Y/O SSIIs. I might have to go this route. Will need new Olds inserts for the center caps though. Looks like Y/O carries center caps and Olds inserts, should be able to make something work.

Looks like the Y/O version of the 17" SSIs are currently available. Buying a set of 4 gets center caps and lug nuts.

Edit: I see that the site says "Arriving Soon", but they'll take your $$. So odds are they have an order in w/ the manufacturer and will deliver. You can't even give them $$ to order some silver SSIIs.

I put in an order for these staggered SSI rims/caps/lug nuts. Fingers crossed they get here before the end of summer. My card won't get charged until shipped.
