Wheel/Tire Fitment on the 67 Delta

OK, my turn for a "does it fit?" question.

The 67 Delta needs wheels and tires. I want to go with the Torque Thrust Originals. I figure 235/70-15s in the front on 15x7 wheels (AR says these have -6mm offset, so about 1/4" further outboard) and I'd LIKE to go with 275/60-15s on 15x8.5 on the back.

Surprisingly, the stock tires and wheels appear to sit very close to the inner fender wells at the back, with tons of room to the outside. The car currently has 215/75-14s and there's less than an inch clearance from sidewall to inner fender, but at least 3" clearance to the outer fender lip. The 275s are over 2" wider, so they should fit with careful selection of wheel offset. It turns out that the only TTOs in 15x8.5 have -24mm offset - just about 1". This sounds too good to be true, as this would almost perfectly center the wider tires in the fender well.

Before I pull the trigger on what will be about $1400 of wheels and tires, I'd appreciate any experience others might have with wheel/tire fitment on the 67/68 Deltas. Thanks for your help.
