Looking to buy new valve stems for a set of ’66 Toronado factory chrome wheels to replace my original painted wheels. Valve stems I am seeing on e-bay and other places all list them as being for 1967- 1978 Toronado and Eldorado. My original painted factory wheels have the conventional straight rubber valve stem where as the new stems I am seeing are brass and angled, (pictured below); is there something different about ’66 Toronado wheels as far as what style of valve stem is correct or are the ones pictured correct?,,,thanks
You could probably install them but they'd stick out at a weird angle. The 67-later brass stem holes are actually on the center section of the rim, behind the wheel spider.
Use the snap-in valve stems. They're what Oldsmobile specified for the 1966 wheel.
