Time for new tires
I have Goodyear Eagle ST 225/70R14 tires on my 1970 442 W-30 right now and have been doing some research on replacement tires. I just wanted to hear from others to see what they chose for replacement tires and why.
I've been looking on internet sites and noticed that the reproduced Goodyear and Firestone G70-14's are about 200.00 each. I recently saw a set of (4) BFG 225/70R14's for 408.00 with free shipping and a 60.00 mail in rebate.
Can anyone offer any positive / negative feedback if they purchased the reproduced Goodyear or Firestone bias ply tires and are currently using them on a regular basis. Same with the BFG's and if anyone has a photo of the BFG's mounted on a Olds SS1 wheel I would appreciate seeing what they look like. My car is a driver so I'm probably going to go with the BFG's.

I run BFG's on my cars with no issues! It's personal preference on the look your after for your ride! For tires I don't do the order off the internet thing for off the shelf tires, I like to deal with a local tire shop for the ease of rectifying warranty issues!
BTW, Radial T/A's have been around since your car was born!! Hope this helps!

I am running the Firestone bias ply on both my W cars. I do not drive my W30 very far however, but they handle suprisingly well ( on a forty year old, heavy car compared to radial tires) and get better traction than the TA's. I have TA,s on my convertible which is driven considerably more. It depends on your use, which is the better choice. I would actually use the TA's in more driving circumstances, except for the race track where they are useless.
