Spare tire size??

Spare tire size??
So after my episode with the blowout in my trunk yesterday, obviously I still need a spare. Question is, what size? I have 225/70/15 up front and 275/60/15 out back. I'm thinking a good "meet in the middle"size would be 245/60/15.
What do y'all think?

225/70-15 and 275/60-15 are almost the same size, 27.4 and 28 basically a radius difference of .3. Go with a spare as close to 28" as you can get. Below is a tire calculator that can help you out.

The spare is only for temporary use. The diameter is what matters - width is irrelevant. Your 245/60-15 is smaller in diameter than either of your current tires, which makes no sense as a spare. Since you're close on the front and back diameters, get a 225/70-15 spare. This would be fine for temporary use on the back and could be rotated onto the front to equalize wear if you wanted to.
FYI, 235/7015 and 275/60-15 are almost exactly the same diameter. That's the combo I have on my 67 Delta, with a 235/70 spare.
