Snap-on Center Cap Ornament Question

Hi Guys,

Not sure where to post wheel questions, so I'll put it here. Does anyone make the ornament (center decal) for SSIII center caps? I've found them for SSI and SSII, but I believe the SSIII is a bit larger than the SSII decal, and I don't see them listed in the usual vendor's catalogs.

thanks,
bob

I believe all the SSII and SSIII center caps are the same just some are earlier bolt on and some are the later snap on. Center cap is the same whether 14 inch or 15 inch as well.

Steven,

I think you may be correct-o-mundo on this. I just went and found both caps and measured the ornament. Seems they are the same diameter. The SSII cap is so much more massive than the SSIII I just assumed the ornament was different. Guess I should measure first and THEN ask.

thanks,
bob

An SS III is nothing more than an SS II painted the body color.

Ya'll may be calling snap on centers SS III but I'm not sure.

Jamesbo,

Sorry for the confusion, my bad. I'm talking center caps here for 15x7 wheels, which would be SSIII, but I failed to realized SSIII were available way back since 71 in 14x7 with bolt on centers. So when I say SSIII I'm erroneously talking about the push on center caps.

Sorry about that.

Hey Don

Those are listed at 6.40 ea ....fusicks (in ct) is $6 ea TPP is $5 each?

RA is funny i looked for them last night and i found a bunch of different wheel stuff under different years like a 79 HO rim under the 80 cutlass and SS2 snap on caps under the 86 salon and never came across the decals funny they dont list the snap or bolt caps under more years and models on rockauto?

I found it on Google.
Thanks for the link.

Those look like the inserts I bought for my original 1971 14x7 SSII bolt on center cap wheels, but they are a bit different than the original inserts on the two sets of 15x7 SSIII snap on center cap wheels that I bought to replace the 14s. The 15" inserts have a clear plastic cover over them. You can kinda see that in this pic. The swirl scratches are in the plastic cover.

You are right, Dean, but look @ shipping & minimum purchase from both & on ebay they are $8.50. It would be alright if you needed something else.
Yeah, you have to look @ all the years. The decals were not listed for the 68-69!

Got the decal today. On the bag it list that they are also for 68-69. It list them as 68-81. Go figure. They come Keystone a popular aftermarket supplier of fenders, bumpers, wheels etc.
