Dave - I looked this up at some point in the past. I believe the direct answer to your question is no. The 1972 PIM lists the manufacturers, tire sizes and colors available for vehicles of 1972 model year. The last year I believe a red line tire was produced for an Oldsmobile vehicle was 1969 if I'm not mistaken.
UNIROYAL, GOODYEAR & FIRESTONE produced the last red line tires F70 x 14 for Oldsmobile (as identified in the 1969 PIM). There are no red line tires listed in the 1970 PIM.
The only thing I remember Gold Line tires on was 66/67 (maybe one or the other). I have them on my 75 Hurst Olds because they match the gold stripes and wheels. I am sure I will get dinged when I have it judged at OCA Nationals this year and that is okay because I like them.
Since the 442 was not a separate model in the 1972 model year, the W29 package did not include unique tires. It did come with the FE2 package, which included springs, shocks, sway bars, 14x7 wheels, and G78x14 blackwall tires. You had to pay extra for RPO PK2 G78x14 white stripe, PK5 G70x14 raised white letter, or PK8 G70x14 white stripe tires.
Were redline or goldline tires an available option on the '72 442?

To specifically address Dave's question I would suggest the answer is:
No. Neither the redline nor the goldline tires were available options on the '72 442.

Pulling hairs & I realize it's a typo, but it's PX8

Unless you're going for hardcore points judging, if you like red, gold, or blue stripe tires, put them on the car and enjoy them. Even the 1968 Hurst/Olds came with 3/8" pinstripe whitewall tires and still looked badass with them.
I think I'd talk with Diamondback to have them made since last I checked they put the color stripe on a virgin American made casing provided they can get the size in an American tire. Since the investment group bought Coker their tires seem like hit or miss getting good ones.
