They will do two things

they will fit & they will look very small.

A 205 60 15 is only 24.7" tall on a 6.5" wide rim so 24.5" tall on a 7" rim.

Good choice for something like a late 70s Starfire but I can not see this tire working well on any A or G body car let alone a B body.

What car are you planning to run these on & what is your rear end ratio?

Put the 235 60 15s on the front & order a set of 255 60 15s for the back.

With 3.73 gears & the size of the rear wheel wells on a 72 Cutlass this will give the car much better stance & cruising RPM. Your 26" tall 235 60 15s with 3.73 gears are going to SCREAM RPM on the highway.

235 60 15s will fit just fine on the front.

What back spacing do I need to use for both? Will 255 fit on a 7" rim?

Factory 15 x 7" rims are perfect on the 72 Cutlass. I think they are 4" BS but you can check one or someone else can chime in that knows for sure.

255 60 15s are good on 7-8" rim.

Yes it will fit fine. Pretty much any standand offset 15 x 7 will fit. You can set 9" on the front and 10" in the rear with the right offsets. 15 x 7 is no big deal at all.
