Coker Firestone Tires
Coker Firestone Tires
Does anyone have any pictures of the Coker Firestone Deluxe Champion Redline tires (14X6) on their SS1 rims? I’m going to get a set of tires but not sure if I should get the Firestone Deluxe Champion Redline or the Firestone Wide Oval Redline. I was thinking of using the Firestone Deluxe Champion Redline on the SS1 and Firestone Wide Oval Redline on Steel Rims with Dog dishes.
I’m putting the 775-14 redlines on my car with the dog dishes because that is what the 66 cars came with. The wide ovals didn’t appear til 67 and the Firestone’s were great looking with the redline out toward the tread side of the side wall. In 68 they changed the redline to the inside of the side crown due to curb damage that was happening with the redline outside of the crown. The second design wide oval is what we can get today and in my opinion not near as attractive.
G70-15 Super Sports
I have the Firestone Super Sports G70-15 Redlines on my Hurst Wheels and one on a 15" SSII rim for a spare. I couldn't find the trim ring for the spare, but you get the idea, The Hurst rims have about the same depth ring as would be on a SSII rim.

"Dog dishes" seem to be a "fad" right now among a few. Back in the day, the only ones that ordered a car with the "cheap hub caps" were people who were going to install the tires on mags or chrome wheels. Or police cars, "salesman cars". and cheap SOB's. At the very least, you pulled off the cheap hub caps and painted the rims.
Thanks for all the recommendations. I do love the Firestone Super Sport Redline since I saw them on a 67 Corvette but Coker only has them in 15 inch size. I’m leaning towards the Champion Deluxe because of the look but do want the wider tire. I have standard Firestone 775X14 radial whitelines on my car now and the tire looks “skinny”.
Check out Summit Racing. They list 18 different 14" tires in a Redline. The offer Bias Ply, Radial and the new radials that look like Bias Ply sidewalls. I think they have pretty much what Coker and others are making these days.

They look amazing and belong on a nice car like that, redlines are cool. I love the white letter wide oval tires, best looking white letter tire on the market. Just like dog dishes scream cheapness to some, so do the run of the mill, thin white wall tires, scream cheap look to me.
I decided to go with the Wide Oval Redline bias tires. They would have come on a 67 model if ordered. My car has a mix of 66 and 67 parts on it now so I won’t mine putting them on the car. Now I have to get a set of Flat Spot Prevention ramps for the car.
