American racing mag wheels proper size

Hello,

I was wondering what is the off set that I'd be looking for on my 1968 cutlass. I have came across a set of daisy american racing wheels and I was wondering if they'll work they're a 14x7. As I'd like to find something with a vintage period correct then putting something from now. So any help also would that size of wheel work with disc brakes or only drums? I have thought of swapping over. Thanks Also what size of tire would I want to run.

John

If you are going with a disc brake setup you may want to consider a 15" wheel!! Depending on wheel offset and tire size you are planning to run 7 - 8.5 wide will usually accomodate any size tire up to a 275-60!

The 14" wheels have a limited number of wide tires available!

I'd go with a 15" whatever due to tire availability. Either way a 0 offset should be just fine as that's what most RWD 7" wheels are set up for in the aftermarket.
