1965 Dynamic 88 whitewall tires recs

Looking for a good 14 inch whitewall tire recommendation for my 1965 dynamic. Not sure what size to go with also. Any help appreciated , thanks, Tom

the biggest 14 inch tire with a whitewall isn't big enough for your 65 dynamic in my opinion, after 25 years of seeing my 14 inch tires get lost in the wheel wells of my 66 dynamic i converted to 15 inch(225/75/15).it not only looks 100% better but the ride and handling is hugely improved.one of the obstacles was finding a wire wheel cover i could put my 3 point spinner on to keep it stock looking.

The original tires on the 65 Dynamic 88 were 8.25x14. These are just over 27" in diameter. Ideally you'd want 225/75-14 tires, but I'm not aware of anyone selling these anymore. 215/75-14s are about 1/2" smaller and 235/75-14s are about 1/2" taller. I'd go with the taller ones.

225-75-14 would be the tire you want but they do not make them anymore. Yes going to a 15 inch rim would be the way to go but then your and most stock hubcaps wont work of that year. They do reproduce bias plys in the H78-14 size but the ride will be less than desirable. There is also a 235-74-14 tire sold by coker (I think) but they are priced outa sight. You could get by with the 215-75-14's but they do look small.... Too bad the correct radial is no longer made...

Thanks for the info/ replies. Wow,,,,,those coker 235 75-14s are pricey. That extra inch is hard to justify at that price.

i've often wondered how accurate the tire size/dimensions were and if they varied by manufacterer,i just measured the cooper 225/75/14 tires i took off my 66(still mounted and 30 lbs) they are closer to 26.5 inches in diameter.only 3k miles on them so practically new.measured them 3 different ways and keep coming up with 26.5 . i wasn't happy with the look or handling of this size and doubt you would be. coker's 235/14 are priced very high but easier than changing to 15 and you get to keep stock wheel cover.jc

Joe is right. I've got 235-14s on my '64.
