Hello, new to the site here, I just picked up a 1954 olds super 88, was wondering if anyone here can tell me what the widest rear tire and rim setup i can run on this car is? Tire size and rim offset needed to do it..

 

Original tire size that will fit on the rear is 8- 60-15 bias ply on a 55, should be about the same for a 54. They will rub on the front. I have a set of chrome reversed tires and rims that are 60 series about as wide as will fit and if I get home at a decent hour I'll look to see what size they are, but be advised one can't really see how wide they are with a standard stance car especially if skirts are used. I took them off my car because of that.....Tedd

Sorry for the delay, I forgot after I got home the other day. That happens a lot lately Rears are on 8 inch chrome reversed rims and are P235- 60-r 15. Fronts are 215-65- r15 on 7 inch. Both clear just barley but don't rub over speed bumps or heavy breaking....Tedd
