I was wondering what is the weight of these rims without tires as I'm wanting to purchase a set of wheels for my car but want to get an idea what shipping would be say from Florida to California. Who has the best prices? Thanks

I got 26 when I put mine on ebay, but I didn't have the trim pieces around each porthole

 

Who did you use to ship them and were they expensive to ship? I mean will it be over 100 for a set of 4

 

I would guess yes. Not only the weight, but the dimensions too.

 

I was going to use UPS, but I didn't sell them. I ended up trading them for powder coating services

However, I going to use UPS and I had rim boxes from buying the new rims for the Alero. I forget what shipping was going to be

 

Depending on were you live and who you use. I ship mine individually and pay around $25 a wheel to ship.

 

The cheapest I have found was 165 for all four I think it's a bit high and that was fedex. How do you normally ship a wheel do you box it or do you just tape some box over the lip of it? I was figuring the box size would be like 15x15x9 or is that bigger then what i'd need? Thanks

My boxes are usually 17x17x9. Have you tried the post office? www.usps.com?

 

When I bought my rims from Summit they put 2 rims in each box, and the rims were lightweight, but still 2 huge boxes. They were HEAVY and covered my entire front door

 

Looking to be like 160 is the cheapest with usps might just wait until I can find some local. they're the 15 with bolt on centers.

 

If they're 15" with bolt on centers, someone would gladly pay $160 for shipping, IMHO.

 

What are 15" bolt on center wheels going for thes days?

 

FWIW: Greyhound Bus also will ship items and tend to have better prices for large/heavy/odd shaped items. They are more lenient with boxing requirements too - pretty much anything that can fit in the bus' cargo compartment. Just have to dropoff/pickup at a Greyhound Station.

I sent a set out this spring and it was 125 to send 4 14x6 rims 24 lbs in a 15x15 box united postal was the cheapest checked gray hound and they were more.

 

$75+ depending on condition and whether they have the centercap, trim ring, etc.
