Vista roof glass removal

Anyone removed the roof glass from a VC? I vaguely remember people talking about using piano wire to cut the seal when removing a windshield from a car.... Apreciate any input you have. Thanks, Greg

Greg, you'll need the tool to remove the stainless and one of these windshield cut out tools. I got this pic from ebay. Just carefully get it under the glass and pull. Your old seal is probably all dried out anyway so it shouldn't be hard to do. Take your time and try to stay away from the edge of the glass and you'll be fine. Good luck. Mike

Iff your old butyl tape is crusty enough you could even get by with a regular utility knife. Just cut around the perimiter of the glass straight against the edge then around on the inside and presto! But as I said the old butyl has to be kind of dried out.

Thanks for the input, Guys. It ended up being no problem- gravity was holding them in...
