A true Fiesta

Hey Guys,

Set me straight. Seeing some late 50 and early 60 wagons listed as a Fiesta yet They are post 4 Drs. It is my understanding that a Fiesta was the hard top model ( no Post ). Please advise.
Thanks,

I have a 62 super 88 fiesta wagon (and it's a four door), says so right on the door. The chrome lock switch on the tail gate also says fiesta. I think that olds started labeling all their full size wagons as fiesta.

All full size wagons from 1957 to 1964 were Fiesta's.

Thanks, I think I get it. So they were all labeled Fiestas yet there were 4 Dr.s with post ( in essence a Sedan ) and there were also 4 Dr.'s with no post ( I'll call them a hardtop ).?

Was there any delineation of the differences in model name?

I did not mean to imply that the Fiesta was a 2 Dr wagon ala the Chevy Nomad. I'm well aware that Olds wagons were 4 Drs. My confusion is the no post models verses the post models.
After further research it appears that the 57 and 58 wagons were the only years that the no post model was offered. Years thereafter appear to be only of the post model.
Could it be that the Fiesta name in 57 and 58 referred only to the no post models and thereafter to all station wagons?

I believe you have it figured out. The 57 and 58 Fiesta wagons were 4-door and did not have a center post. Then apparently Olds continued the name on regular wagons. This was similar to what Chevy did with the Nomad name except the 55-57 Nomads were all 2-doors.

Learn something new everyday, I was wondering how they were classified.

Thanks redoldsman.

The 57 and 58 however were also available with posts. I'm wondering in those specific years the name Fiesta only applied to the hardtop models.
Hmmmm?

Yes the Fiesta name was only for the hardtop models in those years. Those are very collectable cars.
