1964 Vista needs a new radiator

Any suggestion of best place to buy a radiator for a vista with 330. Its a 64 so the water pump inlet/outets are on the opposite sides as later 330's. Has auto trans. Prefer a stock looking unit. My original Harrison radiator has a bad core....

Find a reputable radiator shop to recore your original tanks. Not cheap, but not cheesy looking either.

I forgot to mention, your original copper core has substantial value. Once the repair price is established by the shop, be sure to indicate that you’d like to retain your original core. You can either recycle locally and use the money towards the repair or perhaps the shop might offer to compensate you it’s value as a discount on the repair.

Thanks for the advice. I guess no off the shelf replacements are easily available...

Note that the upper inlet port is located differently for A/C and non-A/C.

I've got a used 1964 radiator if your tanks aren't good. I'd still want to replace the core as it's an original unit. Another option I've heard of is to add the lower part of a 1965 core support to your 1964. Then you can either change the water pump to the newer style or have a radiator shop swap over the hose connection to the correct side. That would open more options for a replacement radiator and give you a larger radiator as well. John

Found a shop to recore the radiator for $800. Tanks are perfect. Many tubes are corroded and leaking. Core is bulging at the sides too.

Before/after pics please.. The last one I had recored was about $600 over ten years ago, your price is likely typical for today. It’s getting harder to find radiator shops these days. The industry seems to be going disposable.

Is your radiator shop using copper cores? If they are, I’ll consider eating the shipping costs to send 2X to/fro the Sunshine State!!😁. $375 sounds super low.

The shop doing the work is ordering a core custom sized from a builder in detroit. They will send it to kansas city where the cleaned tanks will be soldered on. Yes its a new copper core. Old core is original and copper, but is bulged, has cut and dead ended tubes and is pretty clogged.....

It has small numbers that seemed to be stamped on the edge of top tank, where it meets the core...

Negative, we are referring to thin metal tags crimped to the solder area. Perhaps the year ‘64 didn’t have them

Looks good.. I’m sure that you will not regret going this direction. I’m surprised that the tanks look as crusty as they do though.. I’d probably mask off and chemstrip the tanks to clean metal and respray them sanitary..,,Or not. It would not affect the functionality. 😀
