1954 Rochester 4gc

Recently I bought a donor carb due to the threads stripping out at the inlet.
I switched the tops and in the process I bought a rebuild kit from Mike's carburetor .
Everything went well with rebuild I double checked the floats and the seats and needles and everything checked out, well it seemed.
I got it all back together and it started up beautifully but after heating up and getting to full fuel pressure it started to idle rough and stalls out. It will restart but you need to give it full throttle, but even then it runs like crap.
it's got a new fuel pump the vacuum advance seems to function and a new coil .
I'm at a loss fuel is coming above the sight screws on side of the bowl and a small amount of seeping fuel from between the bowl and the throttle flange.
Any help will be appreciated.

I'm assuming the donor carburetor and the original were the same model. If you exchanged air horns and they were not the same it could create a problem. Getting full fuel pressure should have occurred long before normal operating temperature. I'm not sure what "sight screws" are. If fuel is seeping between the float bowl assembly and the throttle body assembly it could indicate an over rich condition. You'll likely have to retrace your rebuilding steps and look for errors in assembly or defective components.

It sounds like you have a vacuum leak. Spray starting fluid on each side of the carb while the car is running and see if the engine changes. Did you completely disassemble the carb and rebuild it?

I figured it out
It looks as if the accelerator pump rod was a mis fit
The carb has stopped flooding
Although during the process of the test and tune after the rebuild I accidentally burnt up the starter.
So I'm ordering a solenoid and brushes , points condenser and plugs. 😃 why not huh ?
The weather is beautiful and the rocket is sidelined lol looks like I'll just sit behind the wheel in the garage and enjoy a cold beverage while I wait on parts. 🤣☹🤣☹🍺🍺🍺

Just curious why would a accelerator pump linkage mis fit cause a fuel leakage issue/ problem? I could imagine it causing a bog or stall but I'm rather lost at why there is a leak and rough running. I'm I missing something Could someone please explain it to me so I could be less ignorant.....Tedd

Depending on the extent of damage something beside solenoid & brushes may be needed.
