Oldsmobile 61 dynamic 88

can anyone help me in locating the fuel pump on my 61 olds dynamic 88. I’m aware it doesn’t have an easy access panel but I want to cut one out for myself.
problem is the car was originally under coated and it’s still in perfect shape down there. Thanks in advance.

A 61 should have its fuel pump at passenger side front of the engine. Never heard of having to cut an access hole to change one out.

Another option is to ship your current mechanical pump to a rebuilder:

If you can bend over the fender (Right hand side) you should be able to reach it with a 1/2 inch wrench or if you have access to a lift even easier from the bottom, Two bolts and a gas line and you are done....Tedd

Go to Harbor Freight or similar store and buy a set of "wobble" extensions. They'll make getting at the bolt on the back side of the pump easier.
