Found my hood! Update

Yep, it's on it's way from AZ, should be here in about a week.

Spent about a hour with with the body man (Warren who is going to be responsible for my car) just going over all the details and a lot of just BSing about cars in general.I kept waiting for him to say I gotta go to work now, didn't happen. Glad I'm not paying for this first class treatment. I know I have thanked you all for your help and because of you guys I indirectly found the hood. Every time I would be given a lead I would ask that person if they knew somewhere else to look, it finally paid off. Car should be done in about three weeks.. ..Tedd

Super! Glad to hear it Tedd. Next I would have a second hood latching option just for extra insurance, just saying....

Hey Tedd...now that the wound is somewhat healing, did you ever post the pics of this 'event'?

Nice. There're still out there, just takes perseverance. Save that old hood for tobogganing!

Ya Gorden I have a few pics of the taco-ed hood but I need to resize them before they will post. The car should be better than before the accident, I'm having them do some touch up and buffing replacing the windshield that had a little crack in it( third time the windshield has been replaced since I have had the car) and a few small items that weren't related to the accident.Thats what happens when you BS, the body man. I can here the churching from here.. Film at eleven.....Tedd

I'm glad you and your car are on the road to recovery. Yours was one of the neatest cars I saw at the Nationals last summer. I never paid attention to the 50s Olds until I saw yours - now I look closer!

Here are a few pics of the hood,it's wired down still so I could get it home and it looked worse when it was bent over the windshield. The springs and spring purchase are also sprung/ twisted and will also be replaced. Fenders are dented / scraped a little and will have to be reworked some. All in all as I look back on it (not pissed off) it could have been much worse and it wasn't , in a short time the car will be back on the road as good as new. So all is well......Tedd
