flat tappet cam?
Hi friends, did the Olds 303 have a flat tappet cam? It's a term ive hard for years but dont really understand. Any help?

Yes it has a flat tappet cam. A flat tappet cam does not have roller lifters.

Cam break in for a cam/lifters will be necessary. 20 min at 2000-2500 rpm, don't let it idle or you can likely flatten the camshaft lobes.
