Anyone know how to move a door back toward the trunk on a 1949 Olds 88? My passenger door mechanism is barely making contact with the striker and alignment plate in the door. On other vehicles that’s simple enough, add a shim to the backing plate to get it closer. On the Olds, it looks like that backing plate was never meant to be shimmed, just moved up and down, in and out but not closer to the front. I’m thinking the door itself will need to be shimmed at the hinge. Am I correct?
