Question Buy New Parts & Accessories Oldsmobile 1957 (I'm from Chile)

Hello everyone:

My name is Carolina Gómez, I´m texting from South America (Chile). First of all, It’s a pleasure to find this Oldsmobile Forum, and I hope that you can help me. Me and my father are going to restore an Oldsmobile 1957 (we’re not pretty sure if it’s an 88 or 98 model) and as you know, these cars weren´t popular as other brands like Ford or Chevrolet, at least in Chile; on the other hand we don’t have any car’s factory so restoring this car is like a challenge for us, a beautiful challenge of course. After that short story, I have been searching on different webpages from USA for buying accessories and parts that we need to get and bring them to Chile but I haven’t found a right page or place for getting accessories. So according to this, I’ll appreciate that you can help me about my request of getting some place or some good webpage or factory that me and my father could contact for our challenge to restore this beautiful classic car.
Best Regards!

I love the body lines on the 1957. But looking at the rust on the hood you may have your work cut out for you. Shipping large or heavy parts from the US will be expensive. But I'd encourage you to create a parts wanted thread for specific items you need.

Look up two names on the internet. Fusik and Kanter, both can get you parts for your Oldsmobile. Welcome to our site.

You certainly have a challenge. But I'm certain you will be successful if you are determined.
The car appears to be a "98" Four Door Sedan.
As mentioned Fusick Automotive is probably the premier source of re-production parts.

1935-60 Oldsmobile Restoration Parts-Fusick Automotive Products, Inc.

Some mechanical parts are available from Rock Auto.

Original pattern upholstery style upholstery materials are available from SMS Fabrics'

And finally original color paint is available from TCP Global.

The Oldsmobile Club of America is also a good source of used and new parts through their publication Journey With Olds.

Thanks for your answer . We'll going to do a list about our parts and accessories that we need for restoring our car. Do you know somebody who restore specifically Oldsmobile cars?

Best regards!

Contact Nicolini at the museum of autos in Lima Peru. His shop does almost all work in house (including plating), is a wealth of knowledge and a strong passion for automobiles. Amongst many beautiful other automobiles, he also has a ‘57 Olds. Nicolini should be able to give good direction based on his similar situation, experience and is very personable.😊
