56 Olds window regulator diagrams?

Something is goofey with the rear window regulators in my 56 Holiday. It's got manual windows that the rear part goes down but hits the inside of the door and they won't go down any further. Anyone have a diagram of how everything goes together so I can double check things before I buy new regulators?

There is an adjustable down stop in the window guide to accomodate height...unless the regulator has some kind of damage, it probably does not need changing...the glass might need rollers or something else simple... through the access hole there is a screw and cam to adjust the up or down...loosen screw, adjust cam and tighten screw '57 chassis manual pg. 17-38...

Found this thread via search. Many thanks for the info. I will jot this one down to my notes as well.

My problem is that the rare of the glass is hitting the inside of the door and stopping. I'm wondering if someone swapped out the 4 door hardtop glass for some other model?

Do you have this little regulator on the rear portion? I think this helps it 'change direction' on the way down...

...by the way - if you DO find any sort of diagram or schematic, please share because I'm deathly afraid that I won't be able to reassemble these after I have the window frames rechromed.

lol, ME TOO!

I did buy the shop manual on CD for a 56 Olds off ebay, it has helped alot but it doesn't really help on the window regulators at all. Maybe if someone has one that is original and complete they could take a pic of it. I am getting another 56 pretty soon, it is a 2 door post but I will take pics and make a diagram, maybe that will help out a bit.
