Just finished up spending two long days installing side windows, flippers and trim on my 55 S88 2 door hardtop. Whoever designed those windows wasn't planning on working on them, especially the flippers that seal the top edges of the door glass. The roof is curved, and the piano hinge flipper won't work if it is curved, so hours are spent getting just the right amount of 3M strip caulk in the center and less on the ends, then trying to make the things close on both ends. It's a nightmare. Finally got it whipped though. I did find someone who rebuilds the flippers, however, and that was a cost saver. Saw 1 NOS flipper on EBay listed for $800. The rebuilders name is Gerald Wodtke in Buffalo, Mn. He takes them apart, cleans and polishes everything then replaces the fuzzies. I have a nice set of the flippers that need rebuilding, if anyone is needing some.
