Hi,

I’m wondering what these brackets would be for? I’ve searched images/videos for the ‘54 Super 88 2D sedan and can’t find anything on the top of the fenders? I did find a era series 98 with rockets on top of the fenders. Do Y’all think my car was modified to add these?

 

Do you have them on both fenders or just the driver side? Looks after market, like a fender mirror was mounted. But pretty far forward. Just my 2 1/2 cents. Others might chime in. Mark.

Ya Don. I have a 57 like that with the fender jets.

 

'54 didn't come from the factory with anything on the fenders, so anything could have been added- mirrors or the '57 fender jets or ..........anything.

Definitely not factory. In 65 years a lot can happen to a car. My guess would be some kind of fender ornaments.

 

All those look to be ‘53’s? Appreciate the literature though!

My mirrors are near the vent wing. I’m guessing that at some point something was added? The mounting points are farther back from the headlight then the ‘57 98 olds pictured in my post above? I will be removing them when comes time to do body work!
