49 and 50 88 owners I need help

Got my '49 in pieces with no input from po. Chassis parts book shows grille layout for 98 NOT an 88.
Here are some pics of the chrome grille pieces that I'm having trouble with.
The piece I'm having trouble with sits just above the lower grille splash pan and bolts to the front bumper. When installed it looks like the 3rd grille, lower bar. All the attachment is to the front bumper and I see nothing to support the rear of this large heavy lower grille piece although

Its just resting on the frt splash pan

4 holes bolt to the frt bumper

2 medium size hole in the rear but no visible place to bolt to

there are 2 large holes in the rear of the piece that look like they should be bolted to something, but there nothing around it to bolt to.
Would someone who has a 49-51 88 model look at their grille for me and tell me what I'm missing.

It's not a time thing, Its just out of my and others era. This is just a guess but on a little later models the 98 and 88 had the same front ends things changed at the B pillar. That may or may not be the same on 49- 50 models. I hate to advise if I don't know.....Tedd

I appreciate any and all help.
I've been restoring cars for 40+ years mostly dealing with 55-57 Chevys.
I would have thought that there was a base of 49-50 owners that would read this section, look at their car and could tell me what they see.
Apparently that's not the case.
Not a problem I'll fix it myself.
