Anyone seen these on ebay? Never ever see these and here are two - what do you think the value / reserve is on the red "barn find"??

I'm intrigued by the one in NJ since I could actually go get it from RI - rough, but as they say "the top goes down"

I've got access to most of the parts and there's not that much "convertible only" stuff outside of the interior...

Since the "barn find survivor" is already out of my budget without the reserve met, I'd be looking at the NJ one...just a pipe dream right now likely, but that's how they usually start.

Any input is welcome - and don't think I don't know how much work is in that blue & white NJ one...rockers, fenders, quarters....

thanks

Olds Guy You will be into either one of them 36,000 to 46,000 grand unless you can do almost all of the work yourself. lot of the parts are the same as a coupe but a lot aren't either. Those will cost what ever the seller wants, he has a corner on that market. Rubber parts are getting out of reason for a convertible or a coupe for that matter.$125 for a wind wing seal, $350 for roof rail rubber. It goes on and on on a 50+ year old car Just about every thing that goes up and down or around and around will need to be replaced repaired. I love 55 verts and would like to see a bunch more of them on the road , just go into it with your eyes open.... Tedd

PS..I think they were being a little Conservative on the remainder of 55 convertibles left..My guess figured on 2 to 3% on any open car over 50 years old would be some where around 200 to 300. Still not a lot of cars but one hell of bunch more than 40.

Yeah...nothing is cheap- hope at least someone saves them. As far as interchange I was thinking more along bumper, bezel & driveline..

HOPE these check out OK for you and you can score a deal!

Hey Olds Dad,
Yes; tempting looking projects for sure -- if you can "buy them right" price wise...of course go check it out and best of luck. keep us posted.

Wow I want a classic convertible bad why did you have to show me this? . The KS one looks to have less work to be done but does it have 17k worth less than the NJ one is the question to ask yourself. One thing to look at is the vent window frames, they are different than the HT ones but just by the little tab that works the roof flippers, which could be ground off the HT ones if you are going to replate them anyways. They are pot metal so you either have to have a good core and chrome platter or decent ones to leave as is.

Oh crap...

I have a daughter who I named "Holiday" - and another I named "Starfire"...I have the "HOLIDAY", but need one of these...

I did manage to convince the wife to fill the stable to where it is, but this one may cost me...and I don't mean what the seller wants either...
