1957 371 head questions 14 match 16?

Hello everyone,
I have some questions about my 57 olds with a 371. I dropped a valve on the right side head and I was wondering if a number 16 head would fit on the 371 which currently has a number 14 head.

I have found some on line just wondering. Thanks.

If anyone has a right side number 14 head they want to part with let men know also!

Thanks in advance

There is a small difference between the #14 and #16 heads. Different thickness head gaskets were used in 1958. Both heads should be the same, either #14 or #16. The combustion chamber volumes are different.
How did you drop a valve ?

I had it missed timed on initial start up bad backfire. valve spring broke all pieces and keepers accounted for I would just like to fix it!

By "fix it" you mean replace only one head ?
How extensive is the damage to the head ? Do you have a pic ? Make sure you check the new head/heads for cracks.

Here is an NHRA spec for 1957 and 1958 heads. As you can see, there is a difference in combustion chamber volume in each year. They also used different thickness head gaskets.
