Was there a light accessory group option in 1955? I have seen a couple of '55s with a blank/cover over the lamp hole in the glove box. Correct me if I am wrong, but did this option include: under hood, trunk lamp, glove box lamp, and courtesy lamp switch under the dash along with the 2 courtesy lamps on each end of the dash that put light on the floors? I found great articles on all the various options in 1955 with their costs, but nothing on the light accessory group. Nothing on spot lights either (mine does not have one).

 

Well I found the answer to my own question. I purchased a 1955 dealer book. I have Group 6 options.

All Group 1 thru 6 option groups carried the trunk, underhood, and glove box light.

 

My 54 has the light package and it has:

• Glovebox light
• Ashtray lights (2 front ashtrays)
• Underhood light
• Luggage Compartment light

I didn't notice any courtesy light lamps or switch on mine.
