So the back window on these guys has 2 different molding sections... The reveal molding around the window and the molding that wraps around the base where the trunk meets the roof line. How do I get these guys off without paying a lot of money to get them straightened afterward? There is some ominous corrosion I want to clean up under it before it becomes a big problem.

I tend to be a little brutish with delicate stuff like this and lack the guidance of the fisher body manual so any help from the wise is greatly appreciated.

 

if you get inside the trunk and look there is some nuts that hold the bottom trim on. The upper trim is press in and should come off if you pry it off with a flat screw drivers between the glass and the trim be carefull when doing this as to not crack the glass

 

I just pulled the trim and rear window on my 55 88 sedan and there were 4 small nuts that had to be removed from inside the car. Four of the molding clips have stds. on them that pass through the window pinchweld or "glass channel".

They are up along upper portion of the window opening. There are a few additional clips up there as well.

 

if your going to pull the trim off to clean up some rust you might aswell pull the rear glasss out too, these cars are noted to have rust in the channel. it kinda sucks to pull it out cause u need a new rubber then but its better to fix it now insted of it getting worse.....in my opinion.......................john
