1953 88 steering box

I am curious is anyone here has any suggestions or leads or replacing or rebuilding a steering box on a 53 rocket 88 without power steering.

Mine is original and has quite a bit of slop in it, and I am trying to look into replacing it if possible.
Not finding much as far as sources

Can't vouch for them but Rock Auto lists rebuild service on a 53 Olds manual gearbox for about $256 plus whatever the shipping would be. Also saw this with a quick search. I've no idea about rebuilding one yourself or if parts are readily available. Good luck.

The steering box can be adjusted for wear . And a lot of " slop " can be adjusted out of it .
Follow the procedure in the 53 Olds shop manual .

I have heard mixed things about RockAuto that would make me hesitant to try them. I may try to contact Fusicks to see if they recommend anything or do service themselves.
