1947 wiring diagram

I am going through the wiring on my 4 door sedan. I have a 1942 service manual. Is the 47 wiring diagram the same as the 42? Thanks.

According to the 1948 Oldsmobile Master Chassis Parts Book, 42-47 are the same except cars with solenoid push button starter. If you have the push button starter then your 47 is likely a one year deal as 1948 shows different parts numbers. If your 42 shop manual shows both types of starters (foot pedal or solenoid) then the information for 42s with solenoid type starter should be the same as for 47s. I just don't know if '42s had solenoid starters but your manual will let you know.

My 47 has a push button starter and hydromatic transmission. The wiring is all original and it does run and drive. The 42 manual has both wiring diagrams so I will be good to go. My problem is at the starter. There are 5 wires sticking out of the harness, 2 are hooked to starter, the brake switch isn't wired and the horn won't work. Thanks for the reply.
