1946-57 parts book - are there better ones?

I just bought this parts book for Olds,1946-57. I have been looking for years for a decent price on one and so I have to say that I was expecting better....this version I have has over 1000 pages but it lacks a whole lot for illustrations and has a lot of lists of parts. I was wondering if the parts books you see going for 75 bucks are any different (better)-the ones that are the most common on ebay. Maybe I just got a spread of too many years - I was expecting to see every part of my '56 in great detail including interior. The transmission section is good though. Hopefully that part will pay for its use. It is crazy some of the prices charged for these books sometimes.

The print date is important, the closer it's printed to 1956 the more relevent it will be. Later printings will have more and more parts deleted.

Thanks for the offer Joe. I'm probably just a bit spoiled maybe since I have been restoring another car that has a much better parts detail. There is probably everything I will need in this book, but will remember you if I need some help....

I don't think your spoiled... my parts books generally look like the photos attached, but I don't think mine covers 56 (although I believe I may have some factory photos of some of the interior shots of a 56)

Good luck!

Yes , what comes to mind that is missing would be some interior diagrams, for instance some models had chrome bows inside, some had extra interior lighting, air conditioning vents....not a big deal once you know I suppose.

In your manuals does it show great detail on th the flange placement for the engine manifold on a inline 8 257? I am getting a 48 Dynamic 78 Club Sedan put back together and started for a customer and I was given a box of parts. Plus is there good detail on under dash wiring?
